sarah just sparkles! look at her eyes!!! she has a very sweet personality – laid back, easy going, fun, happy. sarah has worked as a lifeguard all summer and taught swim lessons as well. she knows sign language and frequently signs in church to her favorite worship songs. we strolled around watkins glen (well, she strolled – i plodded with my heavy camera bag) to get some senior pictures. she’s a beautiful girl! view sarah’s full portrait session

just look at those EYELASHES!!!

i had so much fun with the thorntons! becky used to be a student of mine and now is a teacher herself. she warned me that anna might take some time to warm up, but that little doll was a natural and didn’t mind the camera at all. matthew was a riot and loved hamming it up for the camera. together they were such an adorable pair! such a sweet family! view their full portrait session in my portfolio

krista & carl had beautiful weather for their rehearsal and for their wedding day (you can see their wedding photos at http://savingyourmemories.com/myblog/2010/08/17/carl-krista-7312010/ – valerie did a beautiful job). carl’s family owns a cottage “complex” on seneca lake and they held a picnic there before the rehearsal. it was HOT and the food was delicious and it was just a beautiful setting. (view all the photos from the day)

the bride’s dad gets a little funky

you would not believe how amazingly organized this group is! they totally got themselves all arranged like this with very little input from me

the rehearsal was held at the wedding site in spencer, ny – a 6-acre piece of property called myers’ gardens owned and operated by wayne myers. it holds a mill with water wheel, covered bridge, gazebo, fish pond, acres of hand-built stone walls, many perennial gardens, and an amazingly huge natural stone sundial! wayne has created a spectacular oasis out in the country. the bride and groom were relaxed and smiling, the grandmother of the bride was in charge of the order of events, and the groomsmen added a little levity with chest bumps and high fives to the ring bearer.
this is wayne – stop by and visit him! 1071 michigan hollow rd., spencer

congratulations, krista & carl!

i have known lisa since i don’t know when. if you remember my post in june with pics of lauren – lisa is lauren’s big sis. lisa contacted me about having some portraits made of her and her husband jesse. they have been married four years and are really cute together! we picked the hottest, most humid day of july to have their session, but lisa picked the cornell plantations for the location, so the pretty flowers helped ease the discomfort from the humidity. ok, not really, but it is a very pretty setting. we were all dripping by the time we were done, but i think we got some great shots. these are my favorites…
